Molly Kosar, LCSW

Molly Kosar, LCSW has experience working in a variety of settings including intensive outpatient, residential treatment, and school-based counseling. Molly is an intensively trained therapist in RO DBT (Level 3 through Radically Open Ltd.). She is interested in helping clients struggling with chronic, presentient mental health problems implement behavioral changes and skills that are useful in day-to-day life. 

 

Molly specializes in evidenced-based treatments including: Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Compassion-Based Cognitive Training, and Motivational Interviewing. Molly often incorporates mindfulness and somatic experiencing into therapy. Molly works with adolescents, teens, and adults. She concentrates on treating chronic anxiety, chronic depression, eating disorders, and overcontrolled personality disorders such as OCPD, Avoidant PD, Dependent PD, along with social anxiety and OCD.

 

Molly has a Master Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work with a Certificate in Social Work with Latinx. Molly graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Carolina State University with a BA in Psychology and a BA in Spanish. Prior to joining RO DBT Denver, Molly worked in both private practice and as a dual-diagnosis primary counselor at Skyland Trail, in Atlanta, Georgia, one of the nation’s top residential mental health facilities. She is currently in training to receive her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) certification. Molly is intensively trained in RO DBT. She is also part of the Radically Open Ltd. Scholars Program where she receives intense advanced training from RO DBT Supervisors.

 

In her career journey, Molly has found a love for helping people discover and trust their unique inner strength. Clients often tell Molly that she balances compassion with asking the "tough" questions to propel them forward in life. Molly’s warmth, energy, and steadfastness will create a safe environment for you to confront any challenge.
